InService of the Month

The InService Departments

The following departments were created by the InService Brotherhood to ensure the success and smooth operation of any V Event. 

Head of Departments (HO)

  • Consists of all the Heads of the different InService Departments

Security

  • Ensures the safety of the participants all throughout the event
  • Ensures the security of the VIPs
  • Sees to it that the agreements are carried out by the participants
  • Assists other crew members as needed

Set-up

  • In charge of the general physical set-up of the sessions
  • Sets up the chairs for each sessions
  • Works closely with gatekeepers
  • Ensures black cloth on the entrance and exit ways
  • Works closely with Chief for other materials needed during the sessions

Gatekeeping

  • Mans the entrance and exits of the session halls
  • Ensures that no participant leaves the session hall unnecessarily
  • Checks if the participants have their name tags

Baggage and Logistics

  • Serves as the liaison to the hotel/venue personnel
  • Coordinates with internal crew
  • Does all the “outside” work (buying materials and other supplies)
  • Arranges service vehicles for participants
  • Ensures that the venue has all  materials needed
  • Prepares materials for registration process
  • Does the ingress and egress
  • Handles any queries on the room
  • Ensures that venue is ready for Crew training

F & B (Food & Beverage)

  • Serves as the liaison to the Chef and hotel/venue personnel
  • Coordinates with internal crew
  • Coordinates with the Chef on the preparation of the menu
  • Ensures food is ready during meal and tea breaks

Wellness

  • Custodian of the First-Aid Kit
  • In charge of the general physical health and well-being of all the participants and crew

Music and AV (audio-visual)

  • Takes care of the atmosphere (via music) of the event
  • Keeps close watch of the speaker and program to determine the type of music to be played
  • Manages the videos and clips to be shown during  the event

Program and Timekeeping

  • Logs in the time the event or session started
  • Keeps track of the duration of each session
  • Reminds the speaker of the remaining time using the flash boards

Communications

  • Organizes and coordinates the handheld radios
  • Dispatches orders and messages to and from other departments
  • Oversees performance of and power supply for communications equipment

InService Welfare

  • Takes care of ISB members’ needs
  • Ensures that provisions for the crew are ready and always available
  • Provides rest area and mess hall for active members during events

Materials

  • Oversees purchase and delivery of event merchandise
  • Organizes teams to assemble convention kits
  • Distributes kits and other collaterals or merchandise

Hospitality

  • Dedicated to the VIPs and leaders during the events
  • Ensures the comfort and good welfare of the VIPs
  • Coordinates with F&B for the basic needs of the VIPs
  • Specially chosen by Core ISB members to cater to VIPs

V-Kids

  • In charge of facilitating the V-Kids Convention during the V-Convention
  • Oversees overall organization of activities
  • Ensures general safety and security, and meets the basic needs of the participants

Translation

  • Oversees the execution of real-time translation during the event
  • Coordinates with the pool of translators and interpreters before, during, and after the event

Environment Services  

  • Liaises with the venue personnel to ensure a clean and well-maintained event area
  • Ensures proper waste collection, management, and disposal
