Pat Morita plays Mr. Miyagi in this film where he plays the role of a friendly neighbor who will end up mentoring a bullied teenager, Ralph Macchio.

Macchio will be trained as a world class martial artist in the form of Karate and with that, he earns the respect of the bullies who once tormented his daily existence.
