Service Above Self

As the Mahatma once said, “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the ser­vice of others.” The InService Brotherhood believes that the more you put yourself into the service of your neighbours, the more you find out who you really are. We learn who we are by our actions, not by our words.

We put the need of others before our own, and we think about what we can do for others instead of what we can get in return. Regardless of personal convenience, comfort, or ben­efit, we seek to serve our brothers and sisters to the best of our ability.

We quell our ego, and we humble ourselves so that we may do what is needed without pride or arrogance or expectations of reward. We do not think of ourselves as better or higher or more important than anyone else.
