Kool and The Gang is a classic American funk/jazz/soul/disco group which was formed back in 1964 by brothers Robert (known as "Kool") and Ronald Bell, George Brown, Robert Mickens, Dennis Thomas, Claydes Charles Smith and Rick Westfield.

“Celebration” was from their album “Celebrate!” released in 1980. The song reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart and stayed at number one for two weeks in February of 1981.

With its catchy melody, upbeat tempo and infectious shrills of “Yahoo,” Celebration has turned into a 80’s mix tape track, staple especially for parties and other social gatherings meant to, well, celebrate.

The message of the song is simple: It's time to come together. We're gonna have a good time tonight. Let's celebrate, it's all right.
